Construction Manager

Duties:
Apply inventory and labor requirements for construction jobs and supervise all construction crews. Interpreting energy audit data and assessing inventory needs and labor orders in order to complete weatherization jobs on a timely basis. He/she is responsible for OSHA and other health and safety requirements on job sites. They are also required to implement HCR guidelines in the weatherization of all eligible units.

Responsibilities:
The Construction Manager is responsible for the implementation of weatherization services as required by the program’s contract. This includes ASHRAE calculation, building envelope air sealing, and insulation strategy. He/she must calculate job requirements as interpreted from energy audit data and ensure that the scheduling of labor and material are correct in order to deliver services on a timely basis. He/she must be well versed in building science and have a good knowledge of construction crew capabilities plus inventory material needs. He/she monitors all field activities. He/she needs to maintain good working relationship with the crews as they may be needed to offer advice on certain weatherization procedures and practices. He/she must have a working knowledge of building science principles, and be able to advise crews on their proper implementation.

Physical Requirements:
The Construction Manager is responsible for reviewing and advising on all work done by SSC weatherization construction crews. With that said he/she is expected to travel from site to site and access all areas of the unit that an auditor or crew member accesses to review their work. These areas include attic, roofs, crawl space, and basements. To access these areas they may be required to use ladders or climb multiple flights of stairs.

Additionally, the Construction Manager is expected to review the measurement of all windows and doors which includes setting up and climbing ladders to access the areas of measurement.

Travel Requirements
The Construction Manager is expected to operate an SSC vehicle to travel to any of our work sites located across Erie County. Occasional out of town travel in an SSC vehicle may be required for certain
trainings.
