Auditor

Duties will include:

  • The employee is responsible for the initial inspection of every house SSC will be working on
    • The inspection will identify all areas of the house that need weatherization work, what work they will need to do, photographs of everything that needs to be done, and explaining to the homeowner what will be done
  • The employee may have to complete daily paperwork stating any inventory they used during their inspection of the house
  • The employee must complete all TIPS and EmpCalc paperwork, according to the standards put forth by NYSHCR and NYSERDA for qualifying units.
  • The employee is responsible for completing the final inspection of the household
    • The final inspection confirms that all work has been completed correctly, confirms the savings measures for the state paperwork, photographs of everything that has been done, and retrieving a sign off from the homeowner on the completed work
  • Must take direction from the Production Coordinator/Office Manager
  • The employee must report any issues, incidents, or accidents to the Production Coordinator

Relevant Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years experience working in the construction/weatherization industry with a strong background in building science. The minimum qualifications that you must have active prior to hiring are BPI Energy Auditor and BPI Quality Control Inspector.
  • Other Certifications: Multi Family QCI/BPI Mobile Home and other various BPI certifications.
    • Employee must earn within 12 months of taking the position
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • A desire to be a team player who will demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness
  • High school diploma or equivalent education

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Access all areas of the house where work is being done. These areas include Attics, roofs, crawl spaces, and basements. To access these areas the employee may be required to use a ladder or climb multiple flights of stairs
  • Candidates will be required to pass a physical and drug screening

Travel Requirements:

  • The employee will be required to travel in an SSC vehicle daily to each scheduled job site. Sites may be up to 40 minutes away
  • Occasional out of town travel in an SSC vehicle may be required for certain trainings

Safety Requirements:

  • Every weatherization employee is expected to follow the safety requirements set forth by the SSC Weatherization Safety manual, in addition to following Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Standards when in the field.
