Responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to accounting department. Reports to financial director.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Assist with reconciling accounts
- Assists with data entry of financial transactions in database
- Assist with inputting daily worksheets for job costing and inventory
- Assists with maintaining inventory records
- Assists with accounts payable checks weekly and prepares for mailing
- Know the procedures and steps required in the preparation of payroll and assist when required
- Assists the Financial Director in the preparation of monthly reports
- Miscellaneous assignments as needed
Requirements and skills
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office (Excel), databases and accounting software
- Knowledge of Sage 300 or ERP systems
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry skills
- Well organized
- High school degree
- Associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus
